BHUTAN
For many years utterly remote, mysterious, and lost in the clouds, Bhutan has opened up just a little to the world. One of the world’s last remaining Buddhist kingdoms, it is also one of the last magical, unspoilt places with the pearl of ancient living wisdom.
After all, how many countries measure their prosperity in Gross National Happiness? Come to Bhutan to witness a unique place on Earth. Bhutan exists today as it would have centuries ago, offering a truly authentic experience in a land of monasteries tucked away in mountains, unfrequented trekking trails, and wonderful, hospitable people.

BEST TIME TO VISIT
The best time to visit Bhutan is during the spring, from March to May, and in Autumn, between October and December. The enjoyable weather, clear skies, and different stages of the flowering cycle are mesmerising. However, the unmatched beauty of Bhutan can be witnessed throughout the year.
CULTURE
Heavily influenced by Buddhism, the culture of Bhutan is the best reflection of well-preserved traditions, acceptance, and communal harmony. Based on the fundamental principles of Buddhism, their culture values soft skills like gratitude, respect, and peacefulness, among other aspects. The Thimphu Tshechu and the Paro Tshechu are vibrant celebrations one must not miss!
CUISINE
Located at an altitude, the warmth of Bhutanese cuisine satisfies the need for a comforting hot meal. Influenced by Chinese, Tibetan, and Indian cuisines, the Kingdom of Happiness uses chili peppers by the handful in piping hot stews and consumes them alongside rice. Do not miss trying out Yak milk’s cheese while you’re here!
ARCHITECTURE
A truly unique architectural style amongst South Asian countries, Bhutanese architecture emphasises local raw materials that offer sturdiness and attention to intricate details. Characterised by Dzongs, Chortens, temples, and monasteries, there’s nothing quite like Bhutan’s architecture!
OUR BHUTAN EXPERIENCES
Voluntary Artists Studio, popularly known as VAST, provides vocational art and painting classes to young local people. Started by a group of professional artists in 1998, today, it is the most prominent art centre in Thimphu. The centre also displays exquisite Bhutanese paintings, which fascinate visitors, especially art lovers.
