BTS (Business & Tourist Services) offers personalised travel services bringing the Indian subcontinent closer to your heart.

Established in 1972, BTS pioneered Incentive Travel to India, becoming a brand that believes in delivering exceptional experiences. We coordinate with a network of associate offices across India, Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives, and Sri Lanka. Over the years, we have established excellent relationships with hotels and allied top-notch service providers.

With a vast network of vendors spread all over India, we understand that every trip is important — whether it is a Wildlife tour, a Special Interest journey, Educational travel, a Philanthropy expedition, Green travel, or MICE. We also provide DMC services in Dubai and the surrounding region. We personalise each trip with meticulous attention to detail and focus on high-quality standards.

Each of our members is passionate about travel, making us go all out to deliver the best experiences for our clients. Our operations policy has been to leverage the potential of quality services from hotels and other service providers by demanding standards far above those acceptable to others.

Mr. Omnesh Karnik, Founder

BTS was founded by Mr. Omesh Karnik, an ex-Indian Air Force pilot and a graduate of the National Defence Academy. With his decades of experience in tourism, Omesh Karnik was a guiding light for the company, serving as an advisor until his death in 2019. From luxury train journeys and safaris to beach holidays and cultural tours, Omesh Karnik started the business with a vision to provide comprehensive travel solutions that would make planning and booking travel easy for customer.

BTS Starts

Pioneered incentive travel for the European market in India
Responsible for opening previously unexplored regions of Rajasthan- Mandawa, Dunlod, Nawalgarh.
Promoted other regions in Rajasthan (Bikaner, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer) & Madhya Pradesh (Datia, Orchha, Mandu & Omkareshwar) and brought them to the forefront of Indian leisure tourism.
In 1978, convinced Nouvelles Frontieres, a premier world travel company, to promote ‘value for money’ travel in India as opposed to ‘backpacker travel’, and they successfully went on to provide a large variety of tours and the company is now one of the most popular tourism companies in France catering to a wide range of customers.
Handled Kuoni Travels, one of the world’s largest tour operators for high-end clients, for 6 years from 1986 to 1992.
Founder member of the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) and served as Vice- President for 2 years. IATO is now considered the voice of the industry.
Represented the travel industry in the Mohamed Yunus Committee and the CBDT in 1984; instrumental in the implementation of Sec 80 HHD in the Income Tax Act, where for the first time, the Export of Services was equated with the Export of Goods.

OUR STRENGTHS

Zuleikha (Zulli) Tejpar - Karnik, Founder

Born in Kenya, Zulli studied at the Aga Khan schools in Dar-es-Salaam and Nairobi and Sorbonne University in Paris. She moved to India in 1970 to head the Sabena Airlines offline office in Delhi. She later joined the Taj Group of Hotels and set up their Sales office in Delhi. She joined BTS in 1976. Her experience in various trade segments makes her an able team leader of a group of professionals whose passion for tourism remains unmatched.
She believes travel is a melting pot of priceless emotions.

Prrithviraj, Director

A chartered accountant by education, Prrithviraj has over 23 years of experience in the Travel & Tourism Industry. Over the last two decades, he has worked with several prominent players in India. In his recent assignments, he acted as two companies' business and operations head. He brings his long-term relationship with hoteliers, transporters, and the Tourism Ministry, and the goodwill and support of his clients.
Experiences are the true essence of travel; rest is just routine.

SENIOR MANAGEMENT FOR FRANCOPHONE COUNTRIES

Vira Mehta, General Manager

Vira has been in the travel business for over 48 years, spending much of her career with Tiger Tops in Nepal. Having travelled extensively across India, Vira has tremendous in-depth knowledge of the country, especially in adventure travel and special interest tours. Vira was born in Kampala and holds a Master's in Russian and French from Moscow University.
